Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
228 PM MDT Sat Apr 27 2024

.Discussion...

A cold front has brought higher humidity and widespread showers
thunderstorms and mountain snows to the region today. The Red Flag
warning for Baca county has been cancelled as humidity values
are no longer expected to drop low enough for long enough to
cause concerns. Rain and snow will continue through this evening
before decreasing overnight. Another round of rain and snow showers
will develop across the mountains on Sunday bringing some additional
light accumulations to the higher areas. Otherwise, dry and warmer
weather returns for the early to middle part of next week, with another
chance for showers arriving Thursday and Friday with another weather
disturbance.

Smoke dispersion rates will drop into the poor category for all
areas this evening. Surface based inversions will break by 10 AM
with smoke dispersions rising into the good or better category for
most areas. Some areas along the I-25 corridor may struggle to rise
into the fair category on Sunday. Most areas will see improvement on
Monday as smoke dispersions rise into the very good to excellent
range.
