...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 AM EDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Georgia, including the following
  county, Chatham and southeast South Carolina, including the
  following counties, Beaufort and Jasper.

* WHEN...Until 945 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 645 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Hourly rainfall rates will increase to 2+ inches per hour
    over the next 1-2 hours. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to
    2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain
    will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hilton Head Island, Bluffton, Beaufort, Port Royal,
    Ridgeland, Bellinger Hill Area, Fort Pulaski National
    Monument, Hutchinson Island, Clarendon, Jasper, Hardeeville,
    Lemon Island, Calawassie Island, Shell Point, Rose Hill,
    Parris Island, Burton, Hilton Head Airport, Folly Field and
    Laurel Bay.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
