.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1007 PM EDT Tue Apr 9 2024

High pressure in the western North Atlantic has shifted far enough
eastward over the past 24 hours that we have begun to lose the
source of the modified continental airmass that we have been
enjoying for the past few days. Dew points have jumped up to 65
degrees tonight, which is still slightly below normal, but also
the highest we have seen since last week`s frontal passage. With a
tightened pressure gradient persisting across the region, breezy
conditions are prevailing across the Florida Keys this evening.
These elevated winds and temperatures in the mid 70s have made for
quite a comfortable April evening. The 00Z sounding revealed a
very stable atmospheric profile, with a substantial amount of dry
air above 850 mb. This dry airmass has kept shower activity muted
and cloud cover minimized this evening. The environment is not
expected to change appreciably overnight. The aforementioned high
will continue to slowly advance further offshore, so winds will
likely become more southeasterly. At the same time, dew points
will climb a few degrees, and temperatures will generally remain
in the mid 70s. Dry air will continue to squash shower chances
overnight, so have kept rain out of the forecast. No changes were
necessary to the existing forecast.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1007 PM EDT Tue Apr 9 2024

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all Florida Keys coastal
waters. From synopsis, surface high pressure will continue to
move further offshore in the western North Atlantic while
maintaining strength. As a result, fresh to strong east to
southeast breezes are expected to continue through overnight with
mainly fresh breezes expected Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Breezes will then slacken slowly Thursday and veer to the south
ahead of a weak front that is progged to push through the Florida
Keys coastal waters Thursday night. In the wake of the front,
breezes will veer steadily back to the northeast to east, as
another high pressure system moves across the Southeast and into
the western North Atlantic late in the week and into the weekend.
