.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1026 AM EDT Fri Apr 12 2024

KBYX is void of any meteorological echoes after a front moved
across the Florida Keys early this morning. Thanks to this front,
dew points have notably dropped over the past 24 hours and
temperatures have only managed to climb into the mid-70s so far.
This is astounding for mid-April as we usually see our last front
well before now. We definitely are not complaining! GOES visible
satellite is depicting mostly cloudy skies, with the end of the
cloud shield just north of the island chain. High pressure has
begun to build in at the surface, but winds remain from the
southwest aloft as we are still on the southern periphery of the
trough that brought this morning`s front through. For the rest of
today, skies will gradually begin to clear and temperatures will
only be able to get into the upper 70s as a modified continental
airmass keeps them suppressed. No changes were needed to the
current forecast.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1026 AM EDT Fri Apr 12 2024

Small craft should continue to exercise caution in the Straits of
Florida and SE Gulf Waters. A Small Craft Advisory may be required
in all Florida Keys coastal waters tonight except for the Florida
Bay. From synopsis, moderate to occasionally fresh northwest
breezes have developed in the wake of a recent frontal passage.
Breezes will slacken briefly later this afternoon and begin to
clock around to the northeast as high pressure quickly slides
eastward. Expect a nocturnal surge to develop overnight tonight
with the potential for fresh northeast breezes. Thereafter, the
high will slide into the western Atlantic and remain through the
remainder of the forecast period with peaks and lulls expected.
