.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 922 PM EDT Wed Apr 17 2024

Currently - Healthy ridging off the Atlantic Coast arcs west
southwestward across Florida and the Gulf of Mexico. This is
maintaining moderate to fresh mostly easterly breezes across the
Keys and surrounding waters. Winds have, as is often the case,
tended stronger over our southwestern waters. There has been
little substantial change in surface conditions. Temperatures are
in the mid 70s with dew points a little lower in the mid 60s.
Stable conditions are in place with deep layered ridging
dominating and a substantial subsidence inversion based below 850
mb.

Short Term Update - Deep layered ridging will remain in firm
control of Keys weather through the overnight period. The surface
ridge will remain across Florida and keep winds gentle to moderate
out of the east. Expect mild to warm conditions to prevail.
Overnight lows broadly in the mid 70s with dew points holding in
the mid 60s. Stable conditions will keep showers at bay for
another night.
