...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 315 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northern New Jersey, including the following
counties, Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, Sussex and Warren.
* WHEN...Until 315 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1210 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across
portions of the advised area. Minor flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly where the heaviest rain has
occurred. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Dover, Hopatcong, Hackettstown, Wharton, Mount Arlington,
Franklin, Mendham, Flemington, High Bridge, Stanhope, Hamburg
and Netcong.
- This includes the following highways...
Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 13 and 26.
Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 23 and 36.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around...don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most
flood deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
