...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR CENTRAL MITCHELL COUNTY...

At 402 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is
already occurring south of Westbrook.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Colorado City, Champion Creek Reservoir, Lake Colorado City State
  Park, Lake Colorado City and Westbrook.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Graze Creek, Geneva Creek, Walnut Creek, Morgan Creek, Hasting
  Creek, Jayhawk Creek, Red Bank Creek, Beals Creek, Brushy Creek,
  North Fork Champion Creek, Little Willow Creek, Sandy Creek,
  Little Silver Creek, Colorado River, Granger Creek, Camp Creek,
  Big Silver Creek, Willow Creek, Lone Wolf Creek, South Fork
  Champion Creek, Buck Creek and Wildhorse Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
