FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR UPPER MICHIGAN
National Weather Service Marquette MI
532 AM EDT Mon May 6 2024

...High pressure keeps Upper Michigan dry through tonight...

.DISCUSSION: High pressure over the Great Lakes will continue the
dry weather through tonight. Temperatures will be warmer today
with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s save for upper 50s to low 60s
near the Lakeshores. Despite mixing this afternoon bringing
minimum RHs down into the upper 20s to low 30s, winds are
expected remain light mitigating fire weather concerns. Some lake
breezes are expected to develop again this afternoon, resulting in
some light and variable winds near Lake Superior as well as
helping RHs recover a bit.

Chances for showers return on Tuesday from the south accompanied
by some breezy winds with gusts up to 20 to 30 mph. Dry conditions
ahead of the showers may resulting in a brief period of elevated
fire weather concerns in the northern half of the Upper Peninsula
aside from the Keweenaw, but there still is some uncertainty with
the arrival time of showers. Periods of showers continue through
Wednesday.
