...River Statement For The Cahaba River at Marion Junction...

.Heavy rainfall is forecast to develop along the Cahaba River basin
tonight through tomorrow leading to rises at Marion Junction.
However, levels are expected to remain below established flood
stages, and any overflow along the river should be of minor nature.


The Cahaba River at Marion Junction.
* At 7:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 6.4 feet.
* Action stage is 15 feet.
* Flood stage is 36 feet.
* Forecast...The river will rise to 16.2 feet tomorrow evening. It
  will then fall to 15.9 feet Wednesday morning. It will rise to
  23.7 feet early Friday morning. It will then fall again and remain
  below flood stage.
* Impact...At 15 feet...Flooding around Oakmulgee Creek begins and
  cattle need to be moved to higher ground. Overflow of pasture
  lands increases at stages above 20 feet.


Another statement will be issued by Tuesday morning, or sooner if
conditions warrant.
