Warmer and drier conditions will occur on Monday, with isolated (20-40% chance) of showers and thunderstorms for the high country during the afternoon hours, and little to no rainfall east of I-25. Rainfall amounts should be light. Winds should be out of the northeast across the plains, but 10-20 mph. In the mountains and foothills below 10,000 ft, expect northwest winds 8-15 mph. With strong mixing heights (~9,000 ft), smoke dispersal should be good to very good all afternoon across most of the area. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Monday night through Friday... Isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for Tuesday, increasing on Wednesday behind a cold front. The forecast pattern should then turn warmer and drier for late week into next weekend. Smoke dispersal is forecast to be good to excellent on Tuesday. Poor dispersal is forecast across the Front Range Foothills and urban corridor on Wednesday with fair to good conditions elsewhere.
