The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Eastern Elk County in southeastern Kansas...
  Southeastern Greenwood County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 1030 PM CDT.

* At 951 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 6 miles northeast
  of Longton, or 12 miles southwest of Fredonia, moving northeast at
  50 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Longton, Fall River, Elk Falls, Fall River Lake, and Fall River
  State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for southeastern
Kansas.
