Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
404 PM EDT Mon Mar 25 2024

.DISCUSSION...Poor to fair RH recovery is expected overnight on
the ridges as very low dewpoints continue to remain over the
region. Good to excellent recovery is expected in the valleys. Also,
a downsloping effect off the eastern high terrain will continue to
keep northwestern aspects toward the drier side. Also, strong
southeasterly winds with gusts approaching 35 mph will persist
through the overnight and into early Tuesday afternoon.
Fortunately, a wetting rain is expected to move into the region
late tonight into early Tuesday morning as a cold front
approaches the area. Forecast precipitation amounts have increased
slightly with the highest amounts of around 0.5" along and south
of the Hal Rogers Parkway. Along and north of the Mountain Parkway
and the Cumberland Plateau, QPF is around 0.3". Near to below
seasonal temperatures return to the area once the front exits on
Wednesday.
