...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN LENOIR AND
NORTHEASTERN DUPLIN COUNTIES THROUGH 730 PM EDT...

At 640 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Walnut Creek, or near La Grange, moving southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Kinston, La Grange, Deep Run, and Sandy Bottom.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
