...WYTHEVILLE, SAND MOUNTAIN, NOAA WEATHER RADIO WZ2500 OFF THE
AIR UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

The Wytheville, VA NOAA Weather Radio, Station WZ2500,
Broadcasting on a frequency of 162.45 mHz is off the air until
further notice. The problem is related to a line between the Wythe
County Court House in Wytheville and the transmitter, which is
located on the top of Sand Mountain around 3700 ft. elevation just
south of Wytheville. Repairs were attempted today, but
unfortunately failed. Technicians are scheduled to visit the site
again Sunday morning to attempt repair. We are unable at this time
to estimate a restoration time to normal service for this weather
radio at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may
have caused.

In the meantime, try using other nearby NOAA Weather Radios to
obtain weather information, including WXL60 in Roanoke
broadcasting on a frequency of 162.475 mHz, Richlands WZ2543,
broadcasting on a frequency of 162.425 mHz, or Mount Jefferson, NC
WNG588 broadcasting on a frequency of 162.500 mHz.
