.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Sunday)
Issued at 345 AM EDT Sat Apr 27 2024

At a glance:

-A pleasant day with some gusty SE winds.

-Highs in the upper 70s with overnight lows in the upper 50s.

Another beautiful across the SE with highs in the upper 70s. Temps
will be moderated by mostly cloudy conditions that are expected to
last through the afternoon and gradually push off to the east. Winds
will be out of the SE at 10-15mph; except for NE GA where winds will
be less than 10mph as our mountains are expected to be the epicenter
of a high pressure system that`s moving off the coast and will set
up a Bermuda high for the next few day.s A few gusts in NW GA could
reach 25+ mph.

.LONG TERM...
(Sunday night through Friday)
Issued at 345 AM EDT Sat Apr 27 2024

At a glance:

-No significant changes to precip; but we may see Pulse Convective
season kick off early by the middle of next week.

-Temps will gradually be on the increase and by the time we reach
the middle of next week much of the CWA will be knocking at 90s
door. Fortunately, west winds should prevent us from having to
discuss topics like Heat Indices and apparent temperature as
dewpoints will remain on the dry side. All that being said, daytime
highs in the long term will run anywhere between 5 and 10 degrees
above normal with overnight lows at 8-12 degrees above normal.

The only significant chance we have for precip will be Tuesday when
a weak shortwave in the ridge breaks over northern GA. Best chance
for pops will be in NW Georgia, but less than a tenth of an inch is
expected. Following that, every day in the afternoon may see a pop-
up thunderstorm somewhere in the CWA given the temps and lack of any
discernible upper level flow.
