.DISCUSSION...

Cloudy and damp conditions are expected to continue in areas
along and east of Interstate 29 through Monday. Periodic sprinkles
to light rain showers will be likely into the afternoon. Areas
west of I-29 should stay dry, but cloud cover will linger into the
afternoon hours. Temperatures will climb into the 70s and winds
will be light and variable until the afternoon when a slight
westerly wind develops.

Dry conditions are expected into Tuesday. Southeast winds will
prevail as temperatures reach towards the 80s. From Tuesday night
through Thursday, more unsettled weather returns. Increasing
humidity will lead to daily risks of thunderstorms, some of which
will begin by Tuesday evening and overnight. Winds are not
expected to be strong each day, but temperatures will reach into
the 80s Wednesday and Thursday.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

The Grassland Fire Danger Index will reach the low category
this afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses and other dry organic material on the
ground indicate that the probability of a fire occurrence is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions.

OUTLOOK FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON...The Grassland Fire Danger Index
will reach the low category.

The grassland fire danger product reflects fire danger for native
grasses. It is not intended for cured agricultural crops, nor
will it reflect conditions in road ditches which have been mowed.
