.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 427 AM EDT Thu Apr 18 2024
A very nice night has been ongoing across the Keys with
comfortable temperatures and humidity. GOES 16 Nighttime
Microphysics shows some fair weather cumulus streaming from west
to east through the Keys. Temperatures along the Island Chain are
in the lower to mid 70s with dew points in the mid to upper 60s.
High pressure continues to dominate across the western North
Atlantic early this morning. As a result, marine platforms around
the Keys are observing easterly breezes of 10 to 15 knots with
Island Chain communities observing near 10 mph.

.FORECAST...
The story for the next several days will continue to be the same
with virtually nil rain chances as moisture remains scarce. High
pressure will remain in place over the western North Atlantic
through early-mid next week continuing to dominate the weather
pattern through the Keys. This actually might be the best week of
weather the Keys have seen so far this winter with the last few
days included in this! Temperatures are expected to remain in
check with highs in the lower to mid 80s and dew points in the mid
to upper 60s. It is not until early next week that we may see a
slight moderation to the temperatures and the dew points due to a
weak frontal system slowly encroaching southward along the Florida
Peninsula. As for the winds, expect mainly gentle to moderate
easterly breezes the remainder of this week with winds veering to
the east to southeast and slackening further to light to gentle
breezes over the weekend. Breezes further veer to the southwest to
west ahead of the weakening aforementioned frontal boundary.

.MARINE...
Issued at 427 AM EDT Thu Apr 18 2024
There are currently no watches, warnings, or advisories in effect
the Florida Keys coastal waters. From synopsis, high pressure
will remain over the western North Atlantic through early next
week. As a result, gentle to moderate easterly breezes prevail
through the rest of the week, then veer eat to southeasterly
through the weekend as a ridge axis moves southward into South
Florida. Starting next week breezes veer south to southwesterly as
a weak front stalls across the northern Gulf of Mexico and north-
central Florida.
