...GUSTY WINDS THIS WEEKEND...
.DISCUSSION...
A weak cold front will pass through the area later Saturday,
likely bringing light rain to San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara Counties
and the northern mountain slopes, and only a chance of light rain to
other areas. Any accumulations will generally stay below 0.25 inches.
This will increase humidities over the weekend. Winds will shift to
southwest to west on Saturday, with gusts of at least 20 to 35 mph
common everywhere, and 35 to 50 mph over the mountains, Antelope
Valley, and southwest Santa Barbara County. Isolated gusts to 60 mph
are possible. The winds turn northwest to north on Sunday with similar
winds speeds as Saturday, with the strongest winds over the mountains,
Antelope Valley, and coastal areas. The winds will weaken some on
Monday, but persist through Wednesday out of the northwest to north with
gusts of 20 to 40 mph common. The weekend will be much cooler than
normal, with rapid warming and drying to follow. Highs will likely push
in to th 75 to 85 degree range by the middle to end of next week.
