THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN MARCH WAS BELOW NORMAL. IT WAS THE
COLDEST MARCH SINCE 2014.

MONTHLY PRECIPITATION WAS ONLY 55 PERCENT OF NORMAL. IT WAS THE
DRIEST MARCH SINCE 2016, WHEN ONLY 1.16 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION FELL.

MONTHLY SNOWFALL WAS 346 PERCENT OF NORMAL. IT WAS THE SNOWIEST
MARCH SINCE 2015, WHEN 4.9 INCHES OF SNOW FELL.

NO DAILY RECORDS WERE SET DURING MARCH.

CLIMATE RECORDS HAVE BEEN KEPT AT RONALD REAGAN WASHINGTON NATIONAL
AIRPORT SINCE JUNE OF 1941. ADDITIONAL TEMPERATURE RECORDS FOR THE
WASHINGTON DC AREA OBSERVED DOWNTOWN EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF 1872,
WITH PRECIPITATION RECORDS EXTENDING BACK TO JANUARY OF 1871 AND
SNOWFALL RECORDS EXTENDING BACK TO JANUARY OF 1884.
