MARCH 2018 AT KEY WEST WAS A BIT ON THE COOLER SIDE WITH AN AVERAGE
MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 72.1 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, OR 1.1 DEGREES BELOW
NORMAL. THE WARMEST MARCH ON RECORD, SINCE MARCH RECORDS BEGAN IN
1873, IS 1948 WITH AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 78.3 DEGREES.
THE COLDEST MARCH ON RECORD IS 1915 WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS
65.7 DEGREES.

RAINFALL AT KEY WEST WAS RIGHT AROUND NORMAL FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH,
WITH A SLIGHT SURPLUS OF 0.07 INCHES. THIS IS LARGELY ATTRIBUTED TO
THE DAILY-RECORD-SETTING 1.49 INCHES THAT WAS RECORDED ON MARCH
12TH. THE ONLY RECORD SET THROUGHOUT MARCH. THE WETTEST MARCH ON
RECORD, SINCE RECORDS BEGAN IN 1871, IS 1987 WHEN 9.69 INCHES WAS
MEASURED. THE DRIEST MARCH ON RECORD IS A 3-WAY TIE FOR 1893, 1907,
AND MOST RECENTLY 1971, WHEN ONLY A TRACE OF RAINFALL WAS MEASURED.
A TRACE INDICATES THAT RAINFALL WAS RECORDED, BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH
TO MEASURE.
