The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Southwestern Union County in the Piedmont of North Carolina...
  Northeastern Chester County in Upstate South Carolina...
  Southeastern York County in Upstate South Carolina...

* Until 530 PM EDT.

* At 443 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles north of
  Lancaster, or near Andrew Jackson State Park, moving southeast at
  30 mph.

  HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
           damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect
           considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to
           mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
  Lesslie, Catawba, Van Wyck, Jaars, and Trinity.

building.
