.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1030 PM EDT Thu Apr 18 2024

Currently - Deep layered ridging dominates the local area. A
surface ridge extends across Florida and driving gentle to
moderate easterly breezes across the Keys. The inexorable
moderation over the past several days has brought relatively warm
and increasingly humid conditions. Temperatures are currently in
the upper 70s with dew points creeping up towards 70.

Short Term Update - The previously mentioned ridge will shift a
bit further east into the Atlantic through the night. However,
this will have little appreciable consequences for the Keys. Winds
will remain light to gentle and predominantly out of the east.
Dew points should pick up a degree or two. The somewhat lighter
winds, as compared to the past few days, should allow more
locations to radiate down towards the dew points. As a result,
overnight lows should range quite a bit in the lower to mid 70s
with dew points continuing to edge up towards 70. Stable
conditions will remain in place due to continued deep layered
ridging and a lower subsidence inversion.
