Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern North Carolina
National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City NC
335 PM EDT Thu Apr 18 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Min RHs between 25-35% for most inland areas this afternoon
as sea and sound breezes remain pinned to the coast until
late this afternoon with westerly downslope flow persisting
across the Coastal Plain. A weakening backdoor cold front continues
to traverse the region from the OBX southwestward eventually stalling
and dissipating to the south of ENC. Winds expected to remain
light enough to preclude any fire weather concerns. Another front moves
through the area Friday evening bringing a threat for showers and
isolated thunderstorms.
