Survey Summary:
A National Weather Service damage survey team drove an area
of storm damage from storms Sunday morning along 290 near Manor. Damage was
found to a building under construction near Highway 290 and Toll 130.
Minor damage was seen at the Ford dealership on 290 and to a gas station
near the intersection of 290 and Manor downs road where a large billboard
was blown over into the gas station parking lot. Tree/roof damage was also
noted at the gas station along with minor damage to a few businesses at the
Lexington Street / 290 intersection. We are concluding that a weak tornado
was the cause of this damage. All of this damage along 290 was EF0.

The small tornado either weakened or reformed just to the north of 290 in
Shadowglen with fence and shingle damage found on several neighborhood roads.
One house had significant EF1 roof damage where winds looks to have peaked at
110 mph. The small tornado appears to have weakened again
as it moved ENE into the Stonewater neighborhood. Multiple homes had a significant
amount of shingles removed, fences damaged, trampolines tossed, and some tree damage.
The tornado appears to have dissipated somewhere NE of the Stonewater area.

Times are estimated from radar and may be changed at a later time if any
videos are discovered of the event. The circulation was weak on radar and thus
has made it difficult to determine exact timing. We estimate that maximum width
of the tornado was 20 yards.

As this system moved through south Austin earlier that morning there were other
reported areas of wind damage. At this time we do not see any conclusive evidence that
other tornadoes occurred that morning but will continue to watch for videos or images
that might indicate otherwise.
