Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
340 AM CDT Sat Apr 13 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Elevated fire danger is expected this afternoon into early
evening for west-central Illinois and south-central, east-
central, and southeast Missouri due to low relative humidity,
gusty south-southwest winds, and dry fine fuels. Today`s elevated
fire danger is more marginal than yesterday`s as relative
humidity will be slightly higher. However, mixing and downsloping
may overcome the humidity downstream of the Ozarks. Relative
humidity will bottom out between 3pm and 5pm. The nighttime
inversion won`t break until early afternoon and mixing heights
will reach about 5500 ft by 5pm.
