and Friday. A wind advisory remains in effect until 20Z this
afternoon.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday Night through next Thursday)
Issued at 144 PM CDT Thu Apr 11 2024
To begin the period, high pressure will control the weather pattern
promoting calm and dry conditions. A pattern change is expected by
Monday afternoon as an upper level trough dives into the area. This
will bring another round of unsettled weather to the beginning and
middle of the workweek with chances for rain and thunderstorms.
For Monday into Tuesday, a low pressure system is expected to move
out of the Central Plains dragging a cold front across the state.
Showers and thunderstorms will be possible along and ahead of the
front. Models guidance continues to suggest severe weather could
be possible for portions of central and northern Arkansas during
this time. With that said, we are still several days out so please
continue to check back for additional updates or changes to the
forecast.
An additional system will move into the state Wednesday into
Thursday as a low pressure system moves out of TX/LA into the
state. While severe weather chances appear low with this
system...changes to the forecast are possible. Regardless, it
appears another round of heavy rain will be returning to the state
early next week.
Temperatures are expected to be above average through the period.
High temperatures are expected to be in the upper 70s to upper 80s
with overnight lows in the upper 50s to upper 60s. These above
average temperatures will be aided by southerly flow through the
period.
