...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR WESTERN HENRY...FRANKLIN AND PATRICK
COUNTIES WILL EXPIRE AT 300 AM EDT...

The heavy rain has ended. However, excessive rainfall fell through
much of Franklin and the northern part of Henry County leaving some
roads, including U.S. 220 flooded. Several vehicles became stranded
in high water, including one on U.S. 220, around or since midnight.
Thus, while the Flash Flood threat has diminished as rainfall has
moved out of the area, general flooding and flooding of some creeks
and streams, including Reed Creek near Bassett, is expected to
continue for a while longer. As a result, the Flash Flood Warning is
being replaced with a Flood Warning for Franklin and Henry counties.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports and
pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service
Blacksburg Facebook page and on Twitter.
