Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
140 PM MDT Tue May 7 2024

...HIGH WIND WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY...

.DISCUSSION...
Strong winds continue this afternoon across southeast Wyoming and
Nebraska Panhandle as a slow moving low pressure system over
western South Dakota slowly moves west northwest. This low will be
the main factor in our weather the next 48 hours as it is expected
to eventually drop south into northern Wyoming Wednesday morning.
As the low drops south...it will bring another round of valley rain
and mountain snow to most areas. The low finally moves east Thursday
with precipitation slowly coming to an end from north to south. Winds
expected to slowly ease Wednesday afternoon below warning levels.
