...PRACTICE TORNADO DRILLS TODAY...

The state of Minnesota is conducting a test tornado drill at 6:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service will be activating the Routine Weekly Test
code on NOAA Weather Radio. Many areas in the state will activate their
outdoor warning sirens as well as send out text messages or emails for
those who have signed up with their county or city. Social media posts
will also be sent. The TOR code will not be used at all.

You may hear form local systems such as reverse 9-1-1 (if you have
signed up), outdoor warning sirens, NOAA weather radio, TV, or
others. Take the time now to decide where you would take shelter in
the event of a warning issuance. Remember to plan for the various
places you may be if a real warning occurs. Also make sure you have
at least two ways to get a warning. Outdoor Warning Sirens are not
enough and may not always activate or be heard. Get a NOAA Weather
Radio. Sign up for warning notices through your local county or city
or phone.

The drills today are part of Severe Weather Awareness Week in
Minnesota. Remember they are just a test, to remind you of what you
should do if there was a real warning. For more information, check
out our website weather.gov/fgf, or our social media pages.
