...SNOW WILL DIMINISH BY MID-MORNING, BUT ANOTHER ROUND OF HEAVY
SNOW EXPECTED LATE TODAY INTO SUNDAY...

At 700 am, radar indicated an band of wintry precipitation centered
along a line from near Eau Clarie, to Wausau, to Sturgeon Bay.
Most of the precipitation within the band was falling as snow.
Radar indicated that the intensity of the band was slowly diminishing,
though a small area of heavy snow continued from the City of
Green Bay to the Marinette and Sturgeon Bay areas. Pockets of
heavier precipitation also continued to feed into the band from
the south as well.

The band will continue to diminish during the next few hours, with
just periods of light snow and drizzle or freezing drizzle
remaining by mid-morning. The lighter precipitation will continue
into the afternoon. To the north of the band across northern
Wisconsin, windy conditions and just some light snow or flurries
are anticipated into the afternoon.

Some uptick in the precipitation is anticipated during the
afternoon, though it is likely the next round of heavy precipitation
will hold off until evening.

The snowfall combined with strong northeast winds was producing
extremely difficult travel conditions this morning, mainly south
of a line from Merrill to Antigo to Wausaukee to Sister Bay. Near
white-out conditions are still possible at times, especially in
open areas. If you must travel this morning, use extreme caution.
