The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Coastal waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC out 20 nm...
  Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm...

* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 658 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over South
  Masonboro Island, moving southeast at 45 knots.

  HAZARD...Wind gusts 34 knots or greater.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and
           suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  10 Mile Boxcars, Liberty Ship, Dallas Rock, Billy Murrell Reef,
  Johnny Mercer Pier, Masonboro Sea Buoy, Harris Reef, 10 Mile Rocks,
  School House Reef, Kure Beach Point, Sheepshead Rock, Buoy Off
  Carolina Beach, Wr2, Dredge Wreck, Wr4, 5 Mile Boxcars, North
  Masonboro Island, Fort Fisher, Figure Eight Island, and Kure Beach.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass.
If caught on the open water, prepare for deteriorating conditions.
