Congaree River At Columbia affecting Lexington and Richland
Counties
.Heavy rainfall occurred Monday and Monday night. The result will
be high flows along the Congaree River. Nuisance flooding will
occur along the Congaree River at Columbia.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Advisory means that nuisance flooding may occur nearest the
river when the level is below the official flood stage.

The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a
* Flood Advisory for
The Congaree River At Columbia.
* Until Thursday morning.
* At 10 AM Tuesday the stage was 6.5 feet.
* Advisory stage is 10 feet.
* Flood stage is 19 feet.
* Forecast...The river at Columbia will reach 9 to 10 feet
tonight and be 10 to 12 feet Wednesday and Thursday. A
crest near 12 feet is forecast Thursday.
* At 13 feet...Flooding occurs in flood prone areas near and
downstream from Columbia. Flooding also occurs over much of the
Cayce and West Columbia river walk.
