The National Weather Service in Medford has upgraded the Gale
Watch to a Gale Warning...which is in effect from 1 PM Saturday
to 11 PM PDT Sunday. A Small Craft Advisory has also been issued.
This Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 1 PM Saturday to 11 PM
PDT Sunday. The Hazardous Seas Watch is no longer in effect.
* Winds...North increasing to gale 30 to 35 knots with gusts to
40 kt Saturday afternoon into Sunday evening.
* Seas...Becoming steep to very steep and wind driven at 9 to 13
feet. Seas will be highest beyond 5 nm from shore, near the
capes and south of Gold Beach.
* Areas affected...North of Gold Beach...Gales will affect areas
beyond 5 nm from shore out to 45 nm. South of Gold Beach...
gales will affect areas beyond 3 nm from shore and near the
capes out to 60 nm. Elsewhere expect small craft conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
A Small Craft Advisory means that winds and seas will create a
potential hazard to smaller vessels and inexperienced mariners.
