...HEAT ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT TODAY FOR MOST OF
WEST TEXAS...

.High pressure aloft and a very dry airmass will produce
unseasonably warm temperatures through Memorial Day and beyond.
Temperatures Memorial Day across portions of the Permian Basin
will climb to 107 degrees...around 100 degrees in the Davis
Mountains...and 110 degrees or higher along the Rio Grande.

...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* TEMPERATURE...Highs from 105 in the Permian Basin to 114 in
  the Big Bend.

* IMPACTS...If you plan to be outside, avoid prolonged exposure
  or strenuous physical activity. Drink plenty of non-alcoholic
  or non- caffeinated beverages. Wear lightweight,
  light-colored, loose- fitting clothing, a hat to shield
  yourself from the sun, and use a sunscreen to reduce possible
  sunburn. The elderly, very young, sick and persons with heart
  conditions are most at risk in extreme heat.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Take extra precautions, if you work or spend time outside. When
possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.
