...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Nearshore and Open Waters from St Joseph to Manistee MI...

At 114 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from Wind Pt. to 28 nm northeast of
Wilmette Harbor to New Buffalo, moving northeast at 50 knots.

Locations impacted include...
South Haven Light, Saugatuck Pier Heads, St. Joseph Light, White Lake
Pier Heads, Mona Lake Channel, The White Lake Pierheads, Little Sable
Point Light, Grand Haven Light, and Muskegon Light.

This line of showers and embedded thunderstorms will continue to
move rapidly to the northeast and affect all of the nearshore waters
through 4 pm. It is possible that this line could intensify, causing
stronger winds and possibly needing a Special Marine Warning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until these storms pass.

This strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds to around 30
knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine
warning may eventually be required when these storms reach the
nearshore waters. Boaters should consider heading for shore before
these storms arrive.
