Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
428 AM CDT Wed Apr 17 2024

.DISCUSSION...
Patchy fog is possible in the southeast this morning & especially
Thursday morning, but dense fog is not anticipated. A weak cold
front will sag southward before stalling today along the Highway
82 corridor. The chance for rain & isolated storms will increase
today across central to northern fire districts today before
tapering off from the west this afternoon. Rain & storm chances
will increase again over much of the area Thursday ahead of
another low pressure system that will try to drop a cold front
into the region Friday. This front is expected to stall but remain
a focus for rain & storm chances Saturday & rain Sunday before
final push of drier air move in late Sunday afternoon to evening.
Cooler & drier conditions move into the region late weekend into
early next week before moderating by middle of the week.
