For the following areas... Waters from Fernandina Beach to St. Augustine FL from 20 to 60 NM... Waters from St. Augustine to Flagler Beach FL from 20 to 60 NM... At 1011 AM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from near R2 Tower to 47 nm southeast of Tug Rio Caroni to 47 nm east of Guana River State Park to 43 nm east of Ormond-By-the-Sea, moving east at 50 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 65 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural damage in high winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... Tournament Reef, Casablanca Reef, Anna Reef, and Navy Drydock. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until these storms pass. Wind gusts in excess of 65 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible with these storms. If your vessel is caught offshore, immediately secure for heavy weather. Ensure all crew members are wearing USCG approved Type I life jackets and nonessential crew are below decks. Deploy jack lines and harnesses if available. Check life saving equipment, including batteries on handheld radios, for readiness.
