Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Northern IL and Northwest IN
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville IL
345 PM CDT Mon May 6 2024

.DISCUSSION...

A weak lake breeze has moved inland across the northeast IL and
far western Lake County, IN which has generated easterly winds and
lower mixing heights in these areas. Otherwise, dry and seasonably
warm conditions continue to be observed over the rest of the area
with RH values generally in the 45 to 55 percent range which will
continue through early evening.

Shower and thunderstorm chances will ramp up quickly from the
west late tonight, with most areas seeing some rain Tuesday
morning. Additional isolated to scattered strong to severe storms
may redevelop Tuesday afternoon. Another round of thunderstorms
is likely Wednesday afternoon and night, with severe weather again
possible. Cooler weather is expected by the end of the week, with
periodic shower chances continuing.
