Flags

Yellow: Caution is urged
Red: Hazardous to swim
Currents Present (if any) As Reported by Lifeguards or Park Rangers
RIP: Rip current-Powerful channels of water flowing quickly away
from the shore. They occur most often at low spots or breaks in
sandbars. Rip currents can sweep you into deeper water.
LON: Longshore Current-A lake current that moves parallel to shore.
It can be strong enough to prevent swimmers from being able to keep
their feet on the bottom... making it difficult to return to shore.
STR: Structural Current-A lake current that forms along piers where
longshore currents and wave action flow into the structure.
Structural currents can sweep you out into deeper water along the
pier structure.
N/A: No report of that variable (currents, temp, waves, and flag
color) available. If no reports are available from a beach, the line
will be deleted from the OMR.
NONE: No currents were observed
