...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WEST CENTRAL JONES...SOUTH
CENTRAL LENOIR...NORTHWESTERN ONSLOW AND EAST CENTRAL DUPLIN COUNTIES
THROUGH 1245 AM EDT...

At 1213 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Pleasant Hill, or 14 miles northwest of Half Moon, moving southeast
at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Jacksonville, Half Moon, Phillips Crossroads, Richlands, Comfort,
Petersburg, Pleasant Hill, Potters Hill, Richlands South, and
Hargetts Crossroads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
