WEST CENTRAL VIRGINIA...THE CITY OF COVINGTON...THE CITY OF BUENA
VISTA AND THE CITY OF LEXINGTON THROUGH 1015 PM EDT...
At 945 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking gusty showers embedded
thunderstorms just north of Roanoke and extending into the highlands
and southern Shenandoah Valley...moving northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Heavy rain.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Heavy rain may flood roadside ditches
and wash debris onto the highway.

and Glasgow.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Locally heavy rain will quickly reduce visibility and result in
ponding of water on roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and
minor flooding of poor drainage areas. Drivers are urged to slow
down and use extra caution to avoid hydroplaning.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for south central
and central Virginia.
