This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of Central Kansas,
South Central Kansas and Southeast Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Dry air will combine with strong south winds this afternoon to
create extreme grassland fire danger levels across the entire
region. See red flag warning for more details. Outdoor burning
should be avoided today.

There are small chances of thunderstorms later tonight across parts
of southeast and central Kansas. Severe weather is not expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday

Extreme to catastrophic grassland fire danger is forecast on Friday
afternoon and early evening. See latest fire weather watch for more
details. Once again outdoor burning should be avoided on Friday.

Thunderstorms will be possible for much of the area Sunday
afternoon and for southeast Kansas on Sunday night. Severe weather
is not expected with any of this activity, however a few strong
storms with small hail will be possible.

Very high grassland fire danger is also forecast for most locations
on Monday afternoon.


Spotter activation is not anticipated today or tonight.
