.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 901 PM EDT Mon Apr 15 2024

Currently - A surface Atlantic ridge stretching across northern
Florida and along the Gulf Coast is maintaining gentle to
moderate, but gusty easterly breezes along the Keys this evening.
Stable conditions due strengthening ridging through the lower and
mid levels and amplifying descending branch aloft. This evenings
sounding indicated the primary subsidence inversion has lowered
some with good a dew point depression just below the inversion. As
a result, the area has been largely cloudy free with almost all
of the stratocumulus relegated to the Florida Straits. Needless to
say, no precipitation has been detected. Rather mild conditions
continue with temperatures in the mid 70s and dew points in the
lower 60s.

Short Term Update - Ridging at all levels will continue to
dominate Keys weather through the overnight period. Surface winds
will remain gentle to moderate out of the east northeast with
occasional gusts near 20 mph. This steady flow will help to
hold temperatures up in some locations, while interior and
protected locations will likely radiate some. On balance, lows
will be in the lower 70s with dew points lingering in the lower
60s. Mention of precip will remain out of the forecast.
