...Rain And Higher Humidities Today Through Thursday...

.DISCUSSION...
Yesterday saw another day of low relative humidities with values
generally in the 12 to 22 percent range in response to dry air
and above normal temperatures. The pattern is changing today with
deeper moisture/precipitation moving up from the mid-Atlantic
region this morning. Expect occasional rain throughout the day
today and continuing into tonight with fairly widespread showers
on Thursday as a trough of low pressure moves from west to east
across the area. At this time total rainfall over our area today
through Thursday afternoon looks to be in the one half to three
quarter inch range with some locally higher amounts possible.
Afternoon minimum relative humidities today and Thursday should be
in the 50 to 65 percent range with good recoveries tonight. Thus
fire weather concerns should be much lower than the past couple of
days. Not seeing any concerns Friday into Saturday as another
trough of low pressure moves into the region and brings another
chance of precipitation to the entire area along with higher
humidities and cooler temperatures. Keeping an eye on next Sunday
through Wednesday as that could be a period of warming and drying
conditions.
