Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
456 AM CDT Fri Apr 20 2018

.DISCUSSION...

Surface high pressure situated over the upper Mississippi
Valley will provide a light easterly flow across the region
today. This light flow, along with abundant sunshine and a
moderating airmass, will produce warmer conditions this
afternoon. After a chilly start this morning, with low
temperatures in the mid 30s to lower 40s, high temperatures
this afternoon should warm into the mid and upper 60s. Minimum
afternoon relative humidity values should range from the upper
20s to mid 30s percent range. Some locations, especially parts
of northeast Alabama could experience brief mid 20s percent
relative humidity values. Generally Good dispersion rates are
forecast today, with mixing heights greater than 4500 ft above
ground level, and 5-8 mph easterly transport winds.

Moisture associated with a developing storm system to our west
will result in increasing clouds during Saturday. The surface
high shifting toward the Great Lakes should produce southeast
winds. A more southerly flow should result in high temperatures
rising into the lower 70s. Good dispersion rates are forecast,
mixing heights above 5500 feet, and southeast transport winds
in the 10-15 mph range. The above noted system will return
wetting rains to the area before daybreak Sunday.

Fog potential over the next few days: None expected.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Not expected.
