Fire Weather Planning Forecast for SW VA...SE WV and NW NC
National Weather Service Blacksburg VA
118 PM EDT Fri Apr 20 2018

.DISCUSSION...

Extremely low dewpoints will result in very low humidity readings
this afternoon. Fire weather forecast has been updated to reflect
this very dry airmass. Winds and temperatures unchanged.

A large area of high pressure will cover the eastern United States
through Saturday. Low pressure over the lower Mississippi Valley
on Sunday will track northeast to the Virginia coast by Wednesday.
This will bring widespread rain and below normal temperatures to
the Mid Atlantic region Monday and Tuesday.

This afternoon will be a very dry with humidity minimums of 15 to 25
percent. Winds will be relatively light, from the northwest in the
5 to 10 mph range, with a few gusts in the 14 to 18 mph range.

Saturday will be another dry day but humidity minimums will be slightly
higher (20 to 35 percent range) compared to Friday. With high pressure
overhead, winds will be light and variable.
