Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Extreme Southeast Arkansas,
Northeast Louisiana, and Central Mississippi
National Weather Service Jackson MS
420 AM CDT Wed May 8 2024

.DISCUSSION...Isolated showers to scattered thunderstorms will be
possible later this afternoon and later evening across our
northern fire zones. Additional showers and storms will be
possible later tonight and tomorrow evening. Some of these storms
will have the capability to become severe with the primary
hazards being damaging wind gusts and hail up to golf ball size.
Southerly winds may be gusty at times today before shifting to the
west by Thursday evening. Patchy fog development cannot be ruled
out across south Mississippi around daybreak today and Thursday,
but widespread/dense fog is not anticipated at this time.
