Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Western
and North Central for Nebraska
National Weather Service North Platte NE
309 AM CDT Thu May 2 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Gusty winds and humidity below 20 percent will create elevated fire weather
conditions this afternoon for portions of the western sandhills into the
panhandle that did not receive much wetting rainfall over the last couple of
days. Otherwise, recent rainfall, elevated humidity, and spring greenup will
keep fire weather concerns low through the weekend and into the first part of
next week with humidity well above critical levels and potential for some
wetting precipitation just aout each day. However there will be a good amout
of wind each day, particularly Sunday and Monday with potential for gusts of
35 to 45mph.
