The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh conducted a survey
today in response to damage reports in the Masontown vicinity of
Preston county and drone footage provided by Preston County
Office of Emergency Management.

There were a few hardwood trees that were downed at the initial
touchdown just off Rohr Road. As the tornado continued eastward it
lifted nearly half of the roof off a single family residence on
the east side of Rohr Road. It then proceeded down the hill
causing scattered down large branches and uprooted small trees.
At the end of the track, a tree fell on a vehicle off of Mountain
Run Road. There were down softwood trees on Mountain Run Road.

The National Weather Service would like to thank Preston County
Office of Emergency Management and the Masontown Fire Department
for their assistance with this survey.

The last documented tornado to hit Preston County was July 30th
1980. This is the 14th recorded tornado to hit Preston County.
