Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NE Wyoming and WRN South Dakota
National Weather Service Rapid City SD
348 AM MDT Tue Apr 23 2024

.DISCUSSION...Breezy northwest winds will continue across the
western SD plains this morning into early this afternoon. Winds of
15 to 25 mph with gusts of up to 40 mph are possible in south
central SD. Winds will diminish by the late afternoon.

Dry and warm conditions will continue through Wednesday with
highs in the 70s by Wednesday afternoon. Breezy southerly winds
will also develop Wednesday morning and afternoon across the
western SD plains. Min RHs in northeastern WY will drop into the
teens on Wednesday afternoon, though winds will be very light.
The very warm and dry conditions will lead to elevated fire wx
concerns. An unsettled pattern will develop Thursday through the
weekend, bringing increasing chances of rain, along with cooler
temperatures.
